Through the app young people will be able to start groups, participate in discussions and com- mit on the spot to study DOCAT and do acts of justice as a present to Pope Francis, who, in writing the foreword to DOCAT, shared his dream with youth on how to change the world.

You can read more about this great organization at http://www.icatholic.ie/youcat-docat-youth-bible/

. The DOCAT is the official Social Teaching of the Church and already implies to “do” it, to take action. Pope Francis supports the DOCAT and penned a foreword.

DOCAT campaign: When receiving the DOCAT APP, young people will be able to commit on the spot to study the DOCAT and do acts of justice or acts of service as a present to Pope Francis.

We will update the articles with links and review of this much anticipated app as soon as it becomes available.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1537367172070{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 0px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;border-left-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][ultimate_heading main_heading=”Fulfill the Dream of Pope Francis with DOCAT” main_heading_style=”font-weight:bold;”][/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Download the Free Book, during World Youth Day

I wish I had a million young Christians or, even better, a whole generation who are for their contemporaries “walking, talking social doctrine”. Nothing else will change the world but people, who with Jesus, devote themselves to it, who with him go to the margins and right into the middle of the dirt. – Pope Francis, forward to the DOCAT

Pope Benedict gave the world a beautifully transformed YOUCAT. The YOUCAT transformed the Catechism, the teachings of the Church, into something that was readable and non-intimidating for any young person to read.

Now Pope Francis has personally given the gift* of the Social Doctrines of the Church to the youth (for free during World Youth Day) and to the world. Through the DOCAT App this Social Doctrine of the Church has been transformed, from text and black ink, into one of the most beautiful Catholic Apps I have used to date. Really! It has been put into a format that every youth of the world can touch, read, and participate in.

During this week of World Youth Day celebrations the DOCAT app download is free. Even after World Youth Day is over this app would be worth the cost ($$$), it is so well laid out and beautifully designed though and through. World Youth Day concludes on July 31st, so download the app today![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1537367172070{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 0px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;border-left-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][ultimate_heading main_heading=”What is the DOCAT App For?” main_heading_style=”font-weight:bold;”][/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The DOCAT app contains the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church. It is the fruition of the Pope’s Dream, “…to have a million young Christians-or better, a Whole Generation…” embody the Church’s social teaching by their very lives.

The DOCAT Challenges us to:

  1. Change ourselves … Read the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church, and test your knowledge (and collect badges).
  2. Change your environment … Use what you have leaned and the app will help you to be an ambassador of the Church’s social teaching
  3. Change the world. … Use the App to make the whole world a better place.

At the end of the introduction, you can opt into the promise and challenge to change the world, by clicking Yes, I do. This will add to the count of individuals that are out there making this same promise.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1537367172070{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 0px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;border-left-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][ultimate_heading main_heading=”Purchase the DOCAT Book” main_heading_style=”font-weight:bold;”][/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]During World Youth Day – July 26 – 31, 2016 the DOCAT book will be free as a personal gift from the Pope. You can download it from within the app and it is pretty much instantaneous. When I started writing this review at 9:00AM (CST) the number that had joined was at 541, twelve hours later that number has already doubled. It will be really neat to watch the number increase as more and more people join in the Pope’s challenge to ‘change the world’.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1537367172070{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 0px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;border-left-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][ultimate_heading main_heading=”Main Screens and Design” main_heading_style=”font-weight:bold;”][/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Along the bottom you find the Home (church), the YOUCAT, the Quiz, and Information about YOUCAT, the developers and the app.I am going to gush a little with praise because this app is so beautiful. The images, the layout, the transitions between items, and ultimately the material, is all so beautifully done! A shout out to the Developers for creating a social media masterpiece with the divinely inspired masterpiece that Pope Francis has given the Church.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1537367172070{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 0px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;border-left-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][ultimate_heading main_heading=”The DOCAT” main_heading_style=”font-weight:bold;”][/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Within this screen the DOCAT book is broken up into 12 chapters. This screen allows you to view by Chapter, or by bookmarks. (More on that later). You can get into this section two ways. If you tap on the centre or title of the section it will take you to the beginning and you can scroll through each of the questions and answers.

Now even better is you can tap on the list icon on the right side of the section and it will take you to that section’s Questions, without the answers opening in between. This is great because it allows you to jump to a specific question as you are reading, which feels like a very natural way to study something. After each of the questions and answers, there are small quotation marks. Tapping on this icon brings up a quote that is related to the section.

You can share these quotes through your device in any way you have access to, like email or any social media venue. To return to the section you were reading, you click on the bookmark icon and it returns you quickly, exactly where you left off.

The DOCAT is worth your time.

I stepped one of the quizzes thinking that they would be just check boxes, but these are really nicely done. And they are in fact challenging! If you haven’t read up on any social teachings of the church, you likely will struggle answering the questions. It took a coupe of tries, but I finally managed to earn myself a badge for getting the first section complete and correct. The little badge animations are very fun.

DoCat Badges are awesome Catholic fun.

This app is really fun. It isn’t overwhelming, or demanding. I appreciate the well thought out design elements, the beautiful photos and text size and selection. I highly recommend this app and hope that you will join the DOCAT movement and change the world! As I end this review – there are currently 1243 people doing just that!

Pope Francis has really reached out to the youth of the world and put a great challenge of not just evangelism in deed, but making an impact to change the world by learning the Gospel and putting it into action.

A beautiful App, the DOCAT is creative and smooth.

Grab your Free copy during World Youth Day 2016.
