But I was looking for more. What exactly was I looking for? I’m not actually sure, but as Catholics you would think there would more that we as Catholics would want in a Mary App.
This app is a bit of a challenge to find, if you search “The Mary App” … nope, or “Mary App” nope, just “Mary” if you search iTunes for “Mary” It should come up as the number one result, although Apple is trying to update the app store search and find by adjusting the search algorithm.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1537366243332{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 0px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;border-left-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #dbdbdb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][ultimate_heading main_heading=”One Good Find” main_heading_style=”font-weight:bold;”][/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I do have to say that I did find one App that is worth mentioning in more detail here and that is the Mary app developed by the Marians of the Immaculate Conception (MIC). The app is formatted in exactly the same way as their Divine Mercy app is; it is simple, easy to navigate and full of great information.
Again like the Divine Mercy App, it is a little flat, as the information is not presenting in any type of interactive, audio visual format. But despite that, it has answers to all the basic questions one would be asking about the Church and Mary.

I love this page, because it brings all the essentials together for pursuing a devotion to Mary right at my finger-tips. It also explains these devotions in clear and understandable language, which is essential when trying to explain our devotion to the Mother of God. One of the other simple but nice features is that it has a tab for images of Mary-there are beautiful images available. The Pilgrimage Sites tab is great as it provides pilgrimage sites organized by continents and then cites, and then gives you the specific locations and links to websites for further information. A super resource!

So how do you get that in an App? Good question!
Actually I think that if Fr. Gaitley of the MIC could get an App developed around his “33 Days to Morning Glory” consecration to Mary – I would pay to have it.
An App with video teachings on growing in relationship with Jesus through Mary. An App that incorporates the Rosary but isn’t just the Rosary, with a really good audio Rosary including a singing one. A daily Marian reflection would be great. All the great information on the current MIC Mary App would make it perfect. This all isn’t too much to ask is it?
This app was last updated In July of 2012 … so it is a little unfair to want it to be the latest and greatest, I realize that. The content doesn’t need a massive overhaul, just the look of it. I would love to see an update to the look and feel. HOWEVER: It installed on my 2G iPod touch and worked perfectly.
Compatibility: Requires iOS 3.2 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
