Catholic Prayers & Bible

When someone is new to Catholic prayer, or coming back after a long time away, the sheer number of devotions can feel overwhelming. What they usually need is not a vast library but the essentials, laid out clearly, so they can start praying today. A simple app can be the right first step.

What it covers

Catholic Prayers & Bible gathers the core of Catholic prayer in one place. The Rosary picks the day's mysteries for you and walks you through it step by step, with an illustration and a reading for each mystery to help you meditate rather than just recite. There is also the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the main Catholic prayers and a Catholic Bible, so you can move from prayer to Scripture without switching apps.

The step-by-step Rosary is the strongest part. For anyone still learning the order of the prayers, having each step shown with a picture and a passage makes it much easier to follow and to understand.

An honest look

The app is free, with no in-app purchases listed. It hasn't been updated since July 2024, so keep an eye on how it runs on newer versions of iOS. On the App Store, it has just a single rating, a 1.0, which says more about how few people have reviewed it than about the app itself, but it does mean there is very little user feedback to rely on.

It also doesn't go as deep as some larger prayer apps. You won't find the Liturgy of the Hours, a wide library of novenas or daily reflections here. Think of it as a starter kit rather than a complete prayer book.

Catholic Prayers & Bible suits beginners, converts, older children learning their prayers and anyone who wants a quiet, uncomplicated place to pray the Rosary. It covers the basics well. If you outgrow it, you'll have built a habit worth carrying into a fuller app.
