Best Catholic Rosary Apps for 2026
October is the Month of the Rosary, and October 7 is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. If you’ve been meaning to pray it more often, this is a good month to begin, and your phone can help more than you might expect. A good Rosary app keeps your place, sets out the day’s mysteries, and gives you a voice to pray along with in the car or on a walk.
We went through every Rosary app we’ve reviewed and kept the ones that are faithful, still looked after by their developers, and good to pray with. Each one shows its Catholic Score, our own rating out of 5. Where a score is lower, it’s usually privacy, and we say so.
1. iRosary
Best for: most people, beginners included.
iRosary walks you through every bead with the prayer on screen, an image for each mystery, and audio that moves along with you. Its clever touch is the audio itself: the app mixes several recordings of each prayer, so the voice sounds like someone praying beside you rather than a recording on repeat.
It works as well for someone learning the Rosary as for someone who has prayed it for years. The basic Rosary is free; the richer audio comes with the paid Ultra upgrade.
2. Hallow: Prayer & Meditation
Best for: a guided Rosary led by a real voice.
Hallow is the best-produced Catholic prayer app there is, and its Rosary sessions show it. The voices are warm, the guides include priests, religious and well-known Catholics, and the Rosary sits alongside the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the daily Gospel and thousands of other sessions, so it can carry your whole prayer routine.
Most of the library needs a subscription. Its Catholic Score is held back by privacy: the App Store label reports some data used to track you across other apps.
3. Daily Rosary Meditations
Best for: praying the Rosary with others every morning.
This is the app of the School of Faith daily Rosary podcast, hosted by Dr. Mike Scherschligt and Dr. Troy Hinkel. A new episode arrives each morning: a short Scripture reading, a brief meditation on the day’s mystery, then the whole Rosary prayed aloud, about twenty minutes in all.
Past episodes stay in the app, so a missed morning isn’t lost. The score dips for privacy, since the App Store label lists data linked to you and used for advertising or marketing.
4. Rosario – Pray the Rosary
Best for: families and friends who want to pray together.
Rosario turns the Rosary into a shared commitment. You form a group of five, each person prays one decade a day, and together the group completes a full Rosary every day. It’s modelled on the Living Rosary that Pauline Jaricot began in France in 1826, and each decade comes with a short meditation on its mystery.
If five decades a day feels like too much right now, one decade with four people you love is a good place to start. Privacy holds the score back: the App Store label reports tracking.
5. Pocket Rosary
Best for: a simple, private Rosary with no distractions.
Pocket Rosary does one thing. It suggests the day’s mysteries, walks you bead by bead through every prayer, and keeps count so you don’t lose your place. There’s no login, no notifications and no streaks, and you can pray in English, Latin, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish or Portuguese.
It has one of the highest Catholic Scores on this list, helped by a clean privacy label. Open it, pray, close it.
6. Contemplatio: Rosary on images
Best for: praying with sacred art in front of you.
Contemplatio pairs each Hail Mary with a work of sacred art, so the Annunciation, the Visitation and the Nativity are in front of you while you pray them. There are more than 200 images across the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous Mysteries, in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
If your mind wanders during the Rosary, this may be the app that holds it. It’s a small app with few ratings so far, but it’s beautifully done.
7. Rosary Army
Best for: calm, professionally recorded audio Rosaries.
Rosary Army is the app of the long-running apostolate that asks people to make knotted rosaries, pray them and give them away. It holds their library of recorded Rosaries (traditional, scriptural and Holy Hour), all led by a real voice at an unhurried pace, plus instructions for making your own twine rosaries.
It costs $3.99 once, with no subscription.
8. My Rosary (Audio)
Best for: a free audio Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
My Rosary is a small app from an independent Catholic developer. Choose your mysteries, press play, and a real person prays the Rosary aloud at a natural pace while the prayers follow on screen. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is included, and you can add or skip the Litany of Loreto at the end.
It’s a good free choice if you like to pray along by ear.
Also worth a look
Rosary.Today (Daily Holy Rosary Prayer App) puts the day’s Mass readings, the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy side by side, so you can go straight from the Gospel into the day’s mysteries. It’s free and easy to use; its Catholic Score of 3.8 reflects tracking on its privacy label.
Rosary Experience plays a reel of sacred art and film clips matched to each mystery while you pray. It’s free to try, with a subscription for the full library. Catholic Score 4.0.
