FORMED

Growing in faith as an adult takes more than Sunday Mass, and knowing where to start is half the battle. Books, courses, documentaries and good films all help, yet gathering them can be a project in itself. Having a single library of trustworthy Catholic content makes it far easier to keep learning.

What FORMED offers

FORMED gives you access to thousands of Catholic video-based study programs, along with movies, documentaries, audio talks and audiobooks. It comes from the Augustine Institute, which also makes the popular Amen prayer app. The aim is to help Catholics understand their faith more deeply, live it and share it with others.

The range makes it useful in many settings. You might watch a study program with a parish small group, put on a Catholic film for family movie night, or listen to a talk or audiobook on your commute.

Subscription and price

The app is free to download, but its content requires a subscription. Plans are offered monthly or yearly with auto-renewal, and the store lists subscriptions at $9.99 and $99.99, along with several other price tiers, which can be a little confusing. Prices may vary by region, and the app shows you the exact cost before you buy. A free trial is mentioned, which is a sensible way to test how often you'll use it. Before you subscribe, check the exact amount the app shows for your region and decide between monthly and yearly with your own habits in mind.

The app is actively maintained, with an update in August 2026, and its 4.9 rating from more than fourteen thousand ratings shows that subscribers value it.

FORMED suits adults serious about learning their faith, parents looking for wholesome Catholic films and programs, catechists and small group leaders. If you'll use it regularly, it offers a great deal for the price. If you're only curious, start with the trial before committing, and see how much of the library you actually reach for.
