This is the King James Version of the Bible with the full text and an audio recording you can listen to. It works offline, so once you download it you do not need a signal to read or listen.
You get the complete King James text, chapter by chapter, with a narrator reading it aloud. You can follow along on the screen while the audio plays. There is a verse search, and you can adjust the text for easier reading. The whole thing sits on your phone, so it works on a plane or in a basement church hall with no bars.
The audio is the reason to get this one. I find I take in Scripture differently when I hear it read instead of reading it myself, especially the longer narrative books. Having a voice carry you through a chapter while you wash dishes or drive is a simple way to spend time in the Word without setting aside a special hour for it.
It is good for the commute, for folks whose eyes tire at the end of the day, and for anyone who already prays with the King James English and loves its cadence.
You should know this is not a Catholic Bible. The King James is the Protestant canon, sixty-six books, so it leaves out the seven deuterocanonical books Catholics read, including Tobit, Wisdom, Sirach, and the books of Maccabees. There are no Catholic notes or cross-references either. The developer is an independent publisher, not a Catholic one. If you want the Catholic Scriptures, look at a Douay-Rheims or NABRE app instead.
