Verse of the Day, Daily Bible is a simple app that gives you a Scripture verse each day along with prayers, short devotionals, and Bible stories.
The heart of it is the daily verse. You can set a reminder so it shows up at a time you choose, read the short devotion that goes with it, and listen to an audio version if you would rather hear it. There is a verse archive you can search and browse, plus a set of prayers and stories to read through.
I like an app that does one thing and does not nag you about it. A single verse a day, with a sentence or two of reflection, is enough to turn your mind toward God before the phone pulls it everywhere else. The audio is a nice touch for the days you cannot stop to read.
It is good for someone who wants a small daily prompt rather than a full study program, for setting a morning reminder, and for sharing a verse with family.
You should know this is not a Catholic app. It comes from an independent developer, Twisted Society, and the verses and devotions are general Christian, drawn from a Protestant-leaning frame, with no Catholic Bible canon and no Catholic teaching behind the reflections.
