Bible Coloring Book Pages is a digital coloring app built around stories from the Bible. You color in scenes and figures drawn from Scripture.
The pictures cover the main stories of the Bible across the Old and New Testaments — Noah's ark, Adam and Eve, the Three Wise Men, the Last Supper, and scenes with Jesus and Mary. You tap to fill in the colors, so there is no mess and nothing to clean up. It is aimed squarely at children.
What I like about something like this is that it puts the stories in front of a child in a way they enjoy. A kid coloring Noah's ark is going to ask what it is, and that is an opening for a parent to tell the story. The art is simple but clear.
It is good for young children, for quiet time on a trip, or for a Sunday afternoon when you want screen time that is at least pointed at something worthwhile. Catechists and Sunday school teachers could use it as a small extra.
A few honest notes. The art and the experience are basic, and the ratings are modest, around three and a half stars. The developer, Landay Apps, is a general app maker rather than a faith publisher, and the content is broadly Christian with no Catholic specifics. It is a coloring app first, so do not expect it to teach the stories in any depth — that part is up to you.
Bible Coloring Book Pages is free, from Landay Apps. You can find it on the App Store. A pleasant, low-key way to get small children touching the Bible stories with their hands.
