Bible Verse of the Day! does exactly what the name says. Each day it gives you one Bible verse, set against a nice image, delivered to your phone.
You get a fresh verse daily, drawn from a large collection covering topics like love, faith, heaven, salvation, and everyday life. You can save your favorites, share a verse to text or social media, and turn on a daily notification. If you are on a newer iPhone there is a home-screen widget that updates each day, and you can even set a verse as your wallpaper. It works offline once it is loaded.
The appeal here is simplicity. There is no course to finish and no streak to keep. You see one verse, you read it, maybe you carry it with you for the day. I find that kind of small, steady contact with Scripture does more over time than grand plans I never stick to. The widget is a smart touch — the verse is just there when you glance at your phone.
Good for anyone who wants a daily dose of Scripture without much fuss, for setting a verse in front of yourself first thing in the morning, or for sharing a bit of encouragement with family.
What it is not: Catholic, and not a full Bible. It is a general Christian app from an indie developer, so there is no Catholic framing and no way to read whole chapters in context. Treat it as a daily verse, not a study tool.
