Daily Gospel and Saints is a small daily-readings app. It gives you the Gospel reading for the day and a short life of the saint the Church remembers that day. That is the core of it.

Open it in the morning and you get the day's Gospel, the saint or feast being marked, and a short write-up on that saint's life. It works offline once it has loaded, so you are not stuck if you lose signal on the train. You can turn on a daily push notification so it nudges you to read before the day gets away from you.

What I like is the pairing. Reading the Gospel and then reading about a saint who actually lived it puts some flesh on the bones.
