The narrow scope is the point. Most Bible apps cover the whole Bible at a shallow level. This one drills into two specific books, which means you actually start to know the texts of Judges and Ruth verse by verse rather than just remembering "Ruth said something nice to Naomi." Useful for serious Bible memorization.
Judges and Ruth are great pair: Judges is the chaotic period of the judges before Israel had kings (Deborah, Gideon, Samson), and Ruth is the small, beautiful Moabite-grandmother-of-David story that sits in the middle of all that violence as a counterpoint.
