Holy Rosary.

The Rosary is both prayer and meditation: vocal prayers on the lips, the life of Christ before the mind. Plenty of Catholics find that hard to hold together without help, especially on busy days. An app that lays out the prayers and the mysteries in order can make the difference between praying and meaning to pray.

More than a Rosary

Holy Rosary guides you through the Rosary step by step, with the mysteries for each day. Around that it gathers a small prayer book. There are novenas to different saints, including the novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help, along with daily prayers and the common Christian prayers. It includes the Way of the Cross, with the prayers for all fourteen stations, which is especially welcome during Lent and on Fridays. A Bible verse appears each day, and there is a place to post prayer requests and pray for the intentions of others.

The store listing leans heavily on the promises of Our Lady to those who pray the Rosary, quoting them at length. That will encourage some readers, but it tells you less about the app itself, so it's worth judging the app on what it actually contains.

Price and upkeep

The app is free, with Pro access offered as an in-app purchase at $0.99 or $6.99. The listing doesn't spell out what Pro adds, so start with the free version and decide later if you need it. The good news is that the app is actively maintained, with an update in July 2026, and it holds a 4.7 rating, though from a fairly small group of 88 ratings.

This suits someone who wants the Rosary as the centre of their prayer but also likes having novenas and the Stations close at hand. The prayer request feature adds a gentle sense of praying with others. If you'd rather have one app for your regular devotions than five, Holy Rosary is a solid, current choice, and the free version gives you plenty to pray with.
