Totally Yours

Many Catholics have heard of Marian consecration and meant to make it someday, then lost track somewhere between a book, a calendar and a busy month. Totally Yours walks you through Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, the preparation taught by St. Louis de Montfort. St. John Paul II called his reading of de Montfort a turning point in his life, and countless Catholics have followed the same path since. The consecration takes 33 days, and this app is built to help you finish it.

How it works

The app lays out each day's reading and prayers in order, across the four parts of the preparation. It keeps your place, so if you miss an evening you can pick up where you left off. That alone removes much of what makes the consecration hard to complete on paper. It is devout and faithful to de Montfort's method, and it is free, with an optional in-app purchase to light a candle.

Honest caveats

The app has not been updated since 2015, which is a long time in the life of a phone. It still holds a 4.5 rating from more than 200 users, but an app this old may look dated and could misbehave on newer devices. It is also a large download at 148 MB. If it gives you trouble, the consecration can still be made with the printed book, and nothing is lost.

Totally Yours suits anyone preparing to make or renew the consecration, especially those who want to time the 33 days to end on a Marian feast. It works well for parish groups making the consecration together, where everyone can keep pace on their own phone. It also helps people who start strong with a book and fade by the second week.

The verdict: for a single devotion done well, Totally Yours is a faithful and free guide through the 33 days. Just go in knowing it is an older app, and keep the book handy as a backup.
