New King James Version Bible is exactly what the title says — a full digital Bible in the NKJV translation. It includes the complete biblical text plus standard study features: search, bookmarks, highlighting, notes, audio reading, and verse-of-the-day.
The NKJV is a modern update of the King James, keeping much of the traditional cadence but smoothing out the archaisms ("thou" becomes "you," "saith" becomes "says"). It's a popular middle ground for Protestants who want KJV familiarity without 17th-century English.
The app's interface is plain and functional. Reading is comfortable. Search is fast. The audio narration is decent — clear voice, reasonable pacing — useful for listening on commutes or while driving.
What it's good for: anyone whose primary Bible is the NKJV, Bible study where the group reads NKJV, listening to scripture on the go.
What it's not: Catholic-specific. The NKJV is a Protestant translation. It doesn't include the deuterocanonical books — no Tobit, Wisdom, Sirach, or 1-2 Maccabees. If you're Catholic and want to read the full canon, you'll need a NABRE or RSV-CE app alongside this one. The NKJV is fine for the books you both share (which is most of the Bible).
