3.0/5The short version
Multiple-choice Bible trivia that sticks to the New Living Translation, so the answer wording matches an NLT reader's Bible. It leaves out books like Tobit and Sirach, shows ads unless you pay $7.99, and hasn't been updated since 2023.

NLT Bible Trivia Quiz (renamed from NLT Bible Quiz) is a Bible trivia app that uses the New Living Translation as its reference text. If you read the NLT and want a trivia app whose answers match your translation, this is one of the few apps that scopes itself that way.
The format is the standard multiple-choice quiz: a question, four answer options, a timer, points for getting it right in time. Questions cover characters, events, places, and key passages across both testaments. Difficulty scales up across levels.
The NLT angle matters mostly for the wording of answer choices — the same verse can read differently in KJV, NIV, or NLT, and an app that's loose about translation can get confusing. This one is consistent.
What it's good for: NLT readers who want trivia that lines up with their Bible, a tool for Bible study groups that use the NLT, or just a basic Bible quiz on a kid's iPad.
What it's not: Catholic-specific. The NLT is a Protestant translation and doesn't include the deuterocanonical books, so anything from Tobit, Sirach, 1-2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Baruch, or Judith won't appear. If you read the NABRE or RSV-CE, the questions will still mostly land, but you'll occasionally see the verse worded differently than you'd recall.
Free. Available on the App Store: NLT Bible Trivia Quiz. Useful in its narrow lane if the NLT is your daily Bible.
