iCatholicMusic is a streaming app that plays Catholic music around the clock. It comes from The Station of the Cross, the same network behind iCatholicRadio.

During the week and on Saturdays it streams contemporary music from Catholic artists. On Sunday mornings it switches to hours of Gregorian chant to help you prepare for Mass. It runs all day and night, so there is always something playing when you open it. Like most streaming apps, it is built around a play button — you are here for the music, not for a lot of menus.

I like the Sunday chant idea in particular. Getting your head ready for Mass is half the battle, and having chant going while you make breakfast or drive in does more for that than the usual morning racket. The weekday music is a gentler alternative to regular pop radio when you want something that keeps your heart pointed the right way.
