Catholic Score
3.6/5The short version
A podcast app where every show is Catholic, with more than fifty categories covering spirituality, theology, history and culture, plus music. Great for discovering new shows, though it has several paid tiers and most shows are in other podcast apps too.

Catholic podcasts have multiplied in recent years, and finding good ones in a general podcast app can feel like looking for a parish in a city you don't know. Fio sets out to solve that. It calls itself the home for Catholic podcasts, and every show in it is Catholic, covering spirituality, theology, history, culture, classic literature and more. There is music too, so it can fill the drive to work as easily as a quiet evening.
Built for discovery
Discovery is where Fio does its best work. There are more than fifty Catholic categories to browse, which makes it easy to come across a show you would never have searched for. New episodes arrive all the time, so the library keeps growing. For someone who wants to learn more about the faith by listening, browsing by category is a far better experience than typing guesses into a search box.
Price and caveats
Fio is free to download, but the store lists several paid tiers, including a monthly Premium plan, an Early Music Support plan and an Audiobooks Plus plan. It is worth seeing what the free version gives you before you subscribe. The other honest caveat is that you can find most of these podcasts in whatever podcast app you already use. What Fio adds is the curation, a place where everything is Catholic.
The app is well regarded, with a 4.9 rating from more than 250 users, and it was updated in September 2026, which suggests a team that is actively looking after it. It runs on iPhone and iPad.
Fio suits Catholics who listen a lot and want their listening shaped by the faith, as well as newcomers who don't yet know which shows are worth their time. If you already have a podcast app you love and a list of shows you trust, you may not need it. But if you want one place where everything is Catholic and you can explore freely, Fio is a very good choice.
