Guadalupe Radio Network App

The Guadalupe Radio Network app is the official app for GRN, a Catholic radio network that broadcasts out of Texas and streams to listeners well beyond it. If you already listen to Catholic radio, this puts the station in your pocket.

The main job of the app is the live stream. You open it, hit play, and you are listening to whatever is on the air, whether that is a talk show, the rosary, Mass, or syndicated Catholic programming. Beyond the live feed you can browse the program schedule, catch archived shows and podcasts, and find the network's phone, email, and social links if you want to reach them or support the station.

What I appreciate is how little it asks of you. It is a radio app, and it acts like one. Press play and it keeps going in the background while you drive, cook, or work. The archive is the nice bonus, since a show you missed is usually there to hear later.

It is a fit for anyone who likes Catholic talk radio and devotional programming during the day. Good for a commute, time in the kitchen, or keeping the faith in the background while your hands are busy. People who already know GRN's lineup will feel at home.

What it is not is a national, do-everything Catholic app. The programming is GRN's, with its particular hosts and schedule, so the experience is shaped by that one network. The stream also needs a connection, with no offline listening, so data use is worth watching when you are off Wi-Fi.
