Rosary Experience: 2500 Videos

Rosary Experience is a video-based Rosary app from Weyrich Enterprises. Instead of just text or audio, you pray the Rosary while watching a sequence of sacred art, icons, and short film clips that match the mystery you're meditating on. There are about 2500 videos in the library.

You pick a set of mysteries — joyful, sorrowful, glorious, luminous — and the app plays a continuous video reel of related art and Scripture scenes while the prayers run on the screen. You can pray along quietly or with the audio voice. There's a daily mystery setting that follows the traditional Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu-Fri rotation, and you can swap to other mysteries any time. They've also pulled in clips from older Jesus films and Gospel movies for the Sorrowful Mysteries especially.

What I appreciate is the meditation help. The Rosary works because you keep your mind on the mystery while your lips repeat the Hail Marys. For people whose minds wander — which is most of us — the video gives the eyes something to do that pulls the mind back to the Annunciation, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection. Sacred art has done this work in churches for centuries. This app puts it in your pocket.

Good fit for someone who has tried praying the Rosary and keeps drifting off. Also useful for kids who learn visually — show them a Sorrowful Mystery video and they'll remember it. Worth trying during a holy hour if you've got headphones in.

It's not minimalist. If you find the videos distracting rather than helpful — and some people will — you're better off with audio-only or text-only. There's also a subscription for the full video library after the free trial, which is worth checking before you commit. The free version still gives you a real taste of the app.

Free to start, subscription for full access, from Weyrich Enterprises. Available on the App Store: Rosary Experience. A creative take on a very old prayer — give it a try and see if it helps you stay with the mysteries.
