Spirit Catholic Radio

Spirit Catholic Radio is a streaming app for a Catholic radio network. You open it, hit play, and listen to live Catholic programming wherever you are.

The lineup is what you would expect from good Catholic radio: talk shows, prayer, devotionals, stories of inspiration, and news. It runs all day, so you can leave it on in the car, the kitchen, or the workshop and let it keep you company. The app itself is mostly a play button and a schedule — the point is the content, not the bells and whistles.

What I appreciate about radio like this is that it fills the dead time. The commute, the dishes, the drive to the grocery store — those are hours that usually go to nothing, and this turns them into something that keeps your mind on the faith. It is family-friendly all the way through, so you do not have to worry about what the kids hear from the back seat.

Good for a long drive, a workday in the background, or anyone who wants more Catholic voices in their day and less of the usual radio noise. People who already love EWTN or Relevant Radio will feel right at home.

What it is not: a national giant. Spirit is a regional network out of Nebraska, so some programming is local, and you need a connection to stream. If you want on-demand episodes rather than a live feed, this is not built for that.

Free, from VSS Catholic Communications Inc. Available on the App Store: Spirit Catholic Radio. An easy way to keep Catholic radio playing through the day.
