Best Daily Prayers & Blessings

Some days the hardest part of prayer is simply finding a moment. Short aspirations, a single line offered to God in the middle of things, have helped Catholics with exactly that for centuries. Best Daily Prayers & Blessings is a small collection of short prayers, aspirations and daily devotions for people who struggle to find time to pray. It opens with the aspiration "Heart of Jesus, I put my trust in Thee."

What it offers

The prayers are short enough to say in a moment, and you can save favourites and share them with family and friends by email or text. It is simple and free, with a one-time $2.99 option to go ad-free. It is also well loved, with a 4.8 rating from nearly 2,000 users, and it runs on iPhone and iPad.

Short aspirations like these are a lovely way to turn your mind to God during a busy day. Saying one before a meeting, while waiting in line or after a hard conversation can bring a small moment of peace.

Things to know

It isn't always clear where all the prayers come from, though the devotions lean Catholic. If you want to be sure a prayer is traditional, check it against a trusted Catholic prayer book. The app also hasn't been updated since 2018, and older apps can look dated or behave poorly on newer phones.

It suits busy parents, workers and students who want a few words to pray during the day, and people who like sending a short prayer or blessing to someone who needs encouragement. It is less suited to anyone looking for a structured prayer routine, the Rosary or the daily readings.

The verdict: Best Daily Prayers & Blessings is a gentle, free pocket collection of short prayers. Enjoy it for what it is, keep a Catholic prayer book handy for checking sources, and be aware it hasn't been updated since 2018.
