Catholic Bible: Daily Reading is a Bible app from Bighead Techies that puts the Catholic Bible on your phone and adds a daily reading reminder, a saint-of-the-day card, and a chatbot feature they call Catholic BibleGPT.
The Bible itself is the whole Old and New Testament, and it works offline once it has loaded the first time. You can search by word, jump to any book and chapter, mark favourite verses, and the app keeps a log of which chapters you have read. A daily notification nudges you back if you skip a day. The Catholic news feed pulls in headlines, and the daily saint gives you a short paragraph about whoever the Church remembers that day.
I used the reading log more than I expected. It is satisfying to see chapters tick off, and the unread chapter reminder is a small thing that actually works. The BibleGPT chat is a curiosity more than anything — useful for surfacing a verse when you cannot remember where it lives, less useful as a teacher. Treat answers from it like Wikipedia. Check what it tells you.
This one fits well if you want a clean offline Bible with a daily-reading habit attached, and you would use the saint card on the commute or over coffee. Good for a phone that already has other prayer apps and just needs the Scripture piece. Older kids learning to navigate the Bible can use it too — the chapter list is straightforward.
It is not a study Bible. There are no footnotes, no cross-references, no commentary, and the Catholic distinctives end at the inclusion of the deuterocanonical books. If you want notes from the Catechism or the Church Fathers alongside the text, you will outgrow this app.
