Catholic Daily Mass Reading

Catholic Daily Mass Reading does one thing: it puts the day’s Mass readings on your phone. The texts come from the USCCB, so they are the same American lectionary readings you will hear at Mass in the United States, and you can look up any day of the year, past or future.

It is made by EthicCoders, a small Catholic developer behind dozens of Church apps, and it shows: the app is plain, quick to open and free of clutter. Open it, and the First Reading, Psalm and Gospel are right there.

That simplicity is the point. There are no reflections, no audio and no prayer library, so if you want those, look at Word Among Us Mass Edition or Laudate. But if you just want to read the day’s Scripture before Mass, or pray with it on a day you can’t get there, this does the job with no fuss.

One note for readers outside the US: because it follows the American calendar, some saints’ days and readings may differ from what your own parish uses.
