Catholic Prayer (Молитовник) is a Ukrainian-language prayer book app from Maksym Gontar, developed with the blessing of Archbishop-Metropolitan Kyrylo Volodymyr Viytishyn and the Basilian Fathers in Ivano-Frankivsk.

This is a Ukrainian Greek Catholic resource. Inside you will find morning and evening prayers, prayers for the sick, prayers for the dead, Divine Liturgy responses, the Jesus Prayer, Akathists, prayers to the Theotokos, prayers for the Ukrainian nation, and seasonal prayers tied to the Eastern liturgical year. The interface is in Ukrainian and the prayers are presented in Church Slavonic and modern Ukrainian where appropriate.

The fact that it has the blessing of a hierarch and the Basilian Fathers tells you something important — this is not a hobby project, it is a vetted prayer book. For Ukrainian Catholics, that matters. The content is being kept current, with new prayers added as needed, including prayers connected to the present moment in Ukraine.

A natural fit for Ukrainian Greek Catholics, Eastern Catholics in general who can read Ukrainian or Slavonic, and anyone praying for Ukraine who wants to do so with the words of that Church. Diaspora families trying to keep the tradition alive in their children will find a real resource here.

If you do not read Ukrainian, you will not get much out of it. This is not a Roman Rite Catholic app — the prayers, the liturgical references, and the spiritual orientation are Eastern. That is a feature for Eastern Catholics, but worth knowing if you came in expecting a Latin-Rite prayer book.
