Emmanuel Chaldean Prayer

Emmanuel Chaldean Prayer is a prayer app for the Chaldean Catholic Church — the Eastern Catholic Church centered in Iraq, in full communion with Rome, with its own ancient liturgy in Aramaic. The app carries the Book of Public Prayer and the Volume of Kahnayta, the texts of the daily Office (the Hudhra) and the rites of the sacraments.

You get the cycle of daily prayer through the liturgical year, with the prayers for the Hours, Sunday readings, feast days, and the sacramental rites. Texts are in Aramaic with translation. The structure follows the traditional Chaldean liturgical year — Subara, Denha, Saume, Qyamta, the Apostles, Summer, Elijah-Cross-Moses, Dedication.

What this app does that nothing else really does — it makes a centuries-old Eastern Catholic prayer tradition available on a phone. The Chaldean Church traces its liturgy back to the apostolic period and the language closer to what Christ himself would have spoken.
