GloryBe: Prayer & Meditation

GloryBe is a Catholic prayer and meditation app that tries to pull a lot of devotions into one place. It is still in beta, and the developer is offering it free while they build it out.

There is a good amount packed in. You get daily Mass readings, an interactive audio Rosary, an audio Divine Mercy Chaplet, audio Stations of the Cross, perpetual adoration, and other Catholic meditations. It also includes the Catholic Bible with a ChatGPT-powered question-and-answer feature that lets you ask Scripture questions for study or reflection.

I like the ambition of gathering the daily readings, the Rosary, and the chaplet under one roof, because that covers a real chunk of a Catholic's prayer day. The audio devotions are the strongest part, the kind of thing you can pray along with hands-free while you get ready in the morning.

This is a good fit for Catholics who want one app for several daily devotions, for anyone who prefers praying along with audio, and for people curious about using the Q&A tool for Bible study or catechism questions.

The AI feature is where I would be careful. A ChatGPT-powered answer can be wrong or can miss the Church's actual teaching, so treat what it says as a starting point and check anything important against the Catechism or a priest, not the app. It is also still in beta, so expect some rough edges and changes. The good news is that it is free for now, so there is little cost to trying it.

It is free during beta, made by GetVocal. You can find GloryBe on the App Store. A promising all-in-one Catholic prayer app, with the usual caution about trusting an AI on matters of faith.
