Great Catholic Bible

Great Catholic Bible is an app version of the Catholic Bible that you can read offline. No data or internet connection is needed once it is installed.

You can read and search the books and chapters, and share verses with different backgrounds to social media. Beyond the text, it includes the Rosary with the mysteries of the day and a summarized catechism, which makes it more than just a Bible reader.

The offline part is the real selling point. Being able to open the full Catholic Bible on a plane, in a basement, or anywhere the signal drops is genuinely handy. Having the Rosary and a short catechism in the same place is a sensible bit of bundling for everyday Catholic use.

It is good for daily reading, for looking something up on the go, and for anyone who wants the Catholic canon, the Rosary, and a quick catechism reference in one app. The verse-sharing feature is an easy way to pass a passage along to family or a group chat.

A few caveats. It is a newer app with no ratings yet, so it has not been broadly tested, and the developer is an individual rather than an established Catholic publisher. The summarized catechism is a convenience, not a substitute for the actual Catechism of the Catholic Church. Treat it as a handy everyday tool rather than a reference for settling questions.

Great Catholic Bible is free, from Herbert Caller. You can find it on the App Store. A convenient all-in-one for the Catholic Bible, the Rosary, and a quick catechism, especially offline.
