iCatholic

iCatholic is a young app that tries to pull a lot of Catholic resources into one place — Bible, daily Mass readings, prayers in English and Latin, saint of the day, a daily examen, and customizable reminders to pray.

The layout is simple. You open it and the day's saint is at the top, with the daily readings below and a button to jump into the prayer collection. The Latin prayers section is unusual. Most general-purpose Catholic apps either skip Latin or hide it three menus deep. Here it sits beside the English ones, which is a small but welcome choice. The examination of conscience is decently detailed, broken out by category.

The honest part is that this app is new and still under development. The current feature list reads more like a beginning than a finished product. The team says they are planning the Divine Office, more Bible versions, additional litanies, the Catechism, and Vatican documents. None of those are in yet. What you get today is a clean, modest all-in-one with the basics handled.

It fits people who do not want six different Catholic apps on their phone — a daily Mass app, a prayer app, a saint-of-the-day app, and so on. If you would rather have one home base that covers most of the day's prayer life, iCatholic gives you that, even if it is not deep yet.

It is not at the iBreviary or Universalis level of polish. There is no Liturgy of the Hours, no full daily Mass texts beyond the readings, and the saint entries are short. The app is also young enough that you should expect some rough edges.
