Catholic Score
4.4/5The short version
Laudate puts the daily readings, the Liturgy of the Hours, two Bibles, the Catechism and hundreds of prayers into one free app, with no ads and no data collected. It isn't pretty, but if you keep only one Catholic app on your phone, this is a strong choice.
We first reviewed Laudate back in 2012, and it's still the app we'd hand to almost any Catholic who asks where to start. It's free, it has no ads, and it holds more Catholic content than nearly any other app we've reviewed: the daily Mass readings, the Liturgy of the Hours, two Bibles, the Catechism and a huge library of prayers in English and Latin. Its users agree. On Google Play it has more than a million installs and a 4.7-star rating from over 31,000 reviews.
What's inside
Laudate opens to a long menu rather than a polished home screen, but everything is there once you start looking. The daily readings come with the saint of the day and a short reflection. You'll also find the Liturgy of the Hours in English and Latin, the Order of Mass, the Latin Mass, the New American Bible and the Douay-Rheims Bible, which you can read offline.
Prayer is where Laudate really shines. There's an interactive Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy, along with the Seven Sorrows Rosary, the Franciscan Crown, the Chaplet of St. Michael and many more, plus several versions of the Stations of the Cross. (If the Rosary is your main reason for downloading, see our best Rosary apps.) The prayers are sorted into sensible groups like the Marian and Mass prayers, the Latin prayers come with English translations, and you can keep your favourites in your own My Prayers folder.
Keep scrolling and there's more: the Catechism of the Catholic Church with bookmarks, five guides to Confession written for different groups, the documents of the Second Vatican Council, the Code of Canon Law, daily podcasts and a live stream of daily Mass. The app is available in nearly 20 languages, from Spanish and Polish to Vietnamese and Chinese, which makes it a good fit for multilingual families and parishes.
Where it shows its age
All that content comes at a price in design. Laudate looks much as it has for years, the menus are crowded until you learn your way around, and some sections display web content inside the app, which is harder to read and needs a connection. If you want an app that gently guides you into prayer with audio and beautiful screens, Hallow will feel friendlier.
Ratings reflect that a little. Android users give it 4.7 stars, and iPhone users rate it 4.8 in the UK and 4.3 in Canada, while the US App Store sits lower at 4.0 from about 3,700 ratings.
Free, and private too
Laudate is made by Aycka Soft, a small independent developer, and it has been kept up to date for well over a decade. The latest update arrived in September 2026. There are no ads and no in-app purchases, and the App Store privacy label says the developer collects no data from the app. For an app this size, that's rare, and it's one more reason we're happy to recommend it to families.
Our verdict
Laudate isn't the prettiest Catholic app, but nothing else puts the readings, the Hours, the Bible, the Catechism and hundreds of prayers into one free download. If you keep only one Catholic app on your phone, this is a strong choice. And even if you love a newer app for daily prayer, Laudate is worth keeping for everything else.
Is it faithful?
Laudate uses approved texts, including the New American Bible, the Douay-Rheims Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Some daily reflections come from outside sources, so read them as you would any commentary.
Privacy
The developer reports collecting no data from this app.
From the App Store privacy label, checked October 1, 2026.

I read your prayer of Our Lady of All Nations. I noticed you have the original version; however, that’s not the version approved by the Church. It should read: “may the Lady of All Nations, the Blessed Virgin Mary…” Please, check this out and have the approved version published. I understand we have to be obedient to the Church. Thank you.

Can you get laudate app on Microsoft phone
When are you going to have it gor Windows devices? Winfows 10….

App requested for windows 10 phone
When saying the interactive Rosary, the button to go back and forth during the prayers is too close to the button to exit. also I cannot find the prayer said at the end of the Rosary in the list of prayers. I’ve been looking for that prayer for a long time because we used to say it before the Rosary and we called it “Prayer before the Rosary”. I finally scrolled down farther and found it after the “Hail Holy Queen”. What is the name of this prayer? Can it be found in the list of prayers so I can book mark it?

The link to the daily scripture readings is not working.
