Pocket Chaplet

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy grew from the revelations to St. Faustina Kowalska, known as the Apostle of Mercy. It is short enough to pray in a few minutes, which makes it a favourite for the three o'clock Hour of Mercy, a break at work or the moments before sleep. What it needs most is a little quiet and focus.

Just the chaplet

Pocket Chaplet is built around that need. It offers a simple, sleek way to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, with no fancy features, just the essentials to keep you focused on God. There is no library to scroll, no feed to check and nothing asking for your attention beyond the prayer itself.

It is also remarkably small, at about 1.5 MB, so it opens quickly and takes up almost no space. For people who find feature-packed prayer apps distracting, that minimalism is the main attraction.

What to keep in mind

The app is free. The only in-app purchases are optional tips, from $1.99 to $9.99, for anyone who wants to support the developer. It currently supports English only. The developer mentioned plans to add more languages, but the app hasn't been updated since December 2023, so it is best not to count on those updates arriving.

Being so focused, it doesn't include the Divine Mercy Novena, the Rosary or other prayers. You'll want another app for those. For the chaplet itself, though, it does exactly what it promises, and its 4.9 rating from 31 ratings suggests its users agree.

Pocket Chaplet suits anyone who prays the Divine Mercy Chaplet regularly and wants the simplest possible way to do it on a phone. It is especially good for people who are easily distracted by busier apps, or who want a quick, reliable tool for the Hour of Mercy. Free, light and to the point, it is an easy download for anyone devoted to the Divine Mercy.
