Pocket Rosary

Pocket Rosary is a small, no-frills rosary app — just the prayers, the mysteries, and the tools you need to keep your place.

You pick a set of mysteries (the app suggests the day's by tradition), and it walks you bead by bead through the Sign of the Cross, the Apostles' Creed, the Our Father, the Hail Marys, the Glory Be, and the closing prayers. There's a counter so you don't lose count, and you can switch the prayer language between English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, and Spanish.

What I appreciate is how stripped down it is. No login, no notifications, no upgrade prompts, no daily streak nagging at you. Open it, pray, close it. For an app whose only job is to help you say the rosary, that restraint is exactly right.

Useful if you've forgotten your beads, if you pray in different languages depending on who you're with, or if you want a quiet phone-friendly option for the daily rosary at lunch or before bed. Also a fit for travelers and for anyone who finds the busier rosary apps distracting.

If you want guided audio, reflections on each mystery, Scripture verses, or any of the more developed rosary experiences, this isn't that app. It's the plain prayers. It also hasn't been updated in a couple of years, so don't expect new features anytime soon.

Free, by Tercaet LLC. Available on the App Store: Pocket Rosary. A simple, multilingual rosary that gets out of its own way.
