Prayers RD

Prayers RD is a Catholic prayer collection by Bil Kimes under the St Clement ePress imprint. It pulls together a wide range of traditional Catholic prayers, devotions, and notes on indulgences into a single reference you can carry on your phone.

Inside you'll find morning and evening prayers, prayers for Mass and Communion, prayers for the dying and the dead, the seven penitential psalms, prayers to the saints, and a long list of devotions tied to specific feasts and intentions. Each prayer is laid out cleanly with its proper title and, where it applies, the indulgence attached to it — partial or plenary, with the conditions noted. There's a search function so you can find a prayer by name or by topic.

What I appreciate is the breadth and the attention to indulgences. A lot of modern Catholic prayer apps either skip indulgences entirely or treat them awkwardly. This one takes the Church's teaching on indulgences seriously and gives you the information you need — which prayer, under what conditions, with which intention. If you've ever wanted to pray for the holy souls in Purgatory with the right prayers, this app makes it straightforward.

Good fit for anyone with a traditional bent who wants their devotions in one place — daily prayers, novenas, prayers for specific saints' feast days, prayers tied to the Sacraments. Useful for older Catholics who grew up with these prayers and want them handy. Also useful for a younger Catholic discovering the depth of the Church's prayer tradition.

It's not flashy. The layout is text-heavy and the design is dated. There's no audio, no calendar integration, no daily reminders. If you want a polished daily-life prayer experience, this isn't that. But if you want a reference library you'll actually use for years, this fits.

Free, from Bil Kimes / St Clement ePress. Available on the App Store: Prayers RD. A quiet workhorse of an app — keep it on your phone and you'll find yourself opening it more than you expected.
