Scripture, a prayer, and a candle lit each day.
Catholic Score
4.4/5The short version
Votive builds a few minutes of daily prayer around one lectionary reading, a short audio reflection and a private prayer journal. It's a quiet, Scripture-first habit you can keep, with the Rosary and Examen in a Premium subscription.

Votive is a daily prayer app built around one Scripture reading a day. Each morning there's a passage from the lectionary with a short audio reflection. You listen, then you write a prayer in response.
The app calls this the daily loop, and it has four steps: listen to the reading, write your prayer in a private journal, send a word of encouragement to someone, and light a candle to mark the day complete. The whole thing takes a few minutes, which is the point. It's small enough to actually keep doing.
What I appreciate most is the journal. Writing a prayer out slows you down in a way that reading one off a screen doesn't, and Votive keeps everything on your device. You can search back through past prayers and mark the ones that were answered. Over a few months, that becomes a quiet record of how God has been at work.
The Premium tier adds a guided Rosary in three lengths (5, 15, or 26 minutes), an evening Examen in three styles including an emotions-focused one, and full journal history with search. The daily reading and journal are free.
It's a good fit for anyone who wants a Scripture-first prayer habit without a lot of features competing for attention, and for people who pray best with a pen, or at least a keyboard. It's new and doesn't have ratings yet, so expect it to keep growing.
Votive is free, by Oluwapelumi Odimayo LLC, with an optional Premium subscription at $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. Find it on the App Store.
