Catholic Confession

Catholic Confession is a small app for helping you prepare for the sacrament of Reconciliation. It tracks how long it's been since your last confession, provides an examination of conscience walkthrough, and gives you a private space to note what you want to bring to the priest.

The examination of conscience follows the Ten Commandments structure — the format you'd find in any standard confession booklet, but interactive. You can mark which areas apply to you, add brief notes, and review them before walking into the confessional. After confession, everything clears (or you delete it manually — your choice).

What I appreciate: the days-since-last-confession counter. Catholics who let confession slip for months or years often don't realize how long it's been until they sit down and count. Having a gentle reminder, without the app being preachy about it, is genuinely useful.

A word of caution: this is a small indie developer, not a major Catholic publisher. The structure follows traditional Catholic categories, but the app isn't approved by any diocese that I can see. If you want a confession aid with explicit ecclesial backing, look at confession apps from Ascension or the USCCB.

What it's good for: people who want a private, low-stakes nudge to go to confession more regularly. Useful for spiritual direction journaling too — you can review patterns over time.

What it's not: a replacement for the sacrament itself, or for spiritual direction with a priest. It's a preparation tool only.
